(Walnut, CA) On Saturday, April 19th, 2014 at 7:00AM, the Mt. SAC Relays will be hosting the 1st Annual Run Mt. SAC 5k Road Run, which benefits the Mt. SAC Foundation.  This event resurrects the old Mt. SAC Relays "International Day of Champions"morning road run in the 60's.

We are excited to bring that concept back to life at the 56th Annual Mt. SAC Relays.  Our 2014 Inaugural year participants will run/walk a 5K course that will start on Grand Ave. heading south to La Puente Road, through the streets of Snow Creek, onto the famous hills of the Mt. SAC Cross Country Course and finishing in Historic Hilmer Lodge Stadium.  

All ages are welcome to race, run or walk this beautiful Mt. SAC 5K course.  Entry fee includes free admission to the Mt. SAC Relays and a souvenir T-shirt. Upon finishing,each runner will receive a Mt. SAC Relays medal and have their picture taken at the finish line in front of the stadium monument and torch where so many other international athletes and world record holders have once passed.

“We are really excited to host this 5K for the local community and athletes from throughout the world at the Mt. SAC Relays.  We hope to further endear the college with the community by intertwining this event with the Mt. SAC Relays.” Replies Doug Todd, Meet Director and Head Track & Field Coach.

The first 500 to register will also be given a chance to win a $500 Brooks shopping spree.
