Men’s Soccer Stays Even in Third Consecutive Tie

Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team continues to search for rhythm early in the season, earning their third consecutive draw with a 1-1 result against MiraCosta (1-1-4) on Friday, September 12. With the tie, the Mounties move to 1-1-3 on the season, holding a .500 winning percentage through five games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

MiraCosta struck first in the 27th minute to take the early lead, but the Mounties responded after halftime with an equalizer. Alfonso Ramirez played a key ball to Rafael Avalos, who converted to level the match at 1-1.

Mt. SAC created several opportunities throughout the game, recording seven shots on goal, but was only able to capitalize once. On the defensive side, goalkeeper Edson Mendez made three saves on four shots faced to help preserve the draw.

NEXT UP:

The Mounties remain at home for their next matchup against Oxnard (2-0-1) on Tuesday, September 16 at 6:00 PM.
