Darryl Kennedy joined the Mt. San Antonio College Women’s Basketball Program in 2017, bringing over 30 years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. A dedicated mentor and strategist, his broad expertise has been instrumental in developing athletes and driving team success.
Kennedy began his coaching journey at Ganesha High School in 1994, where over five seasons he helped lead the boys’ varsity team to three CIF playoff appearances and two league championships. In 1999, he moved to Jurupa Valley High School as a varsity assistant, playing a key role in transforming a struggling program into a two-time CIF Championship runner-up.
Following that, he served as assistant head coach at Colony High School, partnering with Head Coach Ed Taylor to guide the Lady Titans to their first-ever CIF Championship. Kennedy also held the position of Head Coach for the Claremont High School girls’ basketball program, cementing his reputation as a leader and motivator.
Since joining the Mounties, Kennedy has played a key role in the team’s continued success—including helping Mt. SAC bring home the 2025 California Community College State Championship, a testament to his impact on one of the top programs in the state.
A student-centered coach, Kennedy excels at motivating athletes and fostering their growth both on and off the court. He is deeply committed to Mt. SAC’s students and staff and continues to help lead the Women’s Basketball Program toward ongoing success.
