Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Advances To The Third Round Of CCCAA Play-offs

(Walnut, CA)  The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team has advanced to the 3rd Round of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Play-offs and will now face San Bernardino Valley College, this Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 7:00 pm, here at home (Gym 3).  The number 2 ranked Mounties (26-4 record) easily defeated visiting Cypress College, 81-62, on Saturday, to advance, while the the #7 ranked Wolverines (19-6 record) defeated Saddleback College, 65-54.  

Against Cypress, coming off the bench, playing 19 minutes total, sophomore Sabrina Norton, lead the Mounties with 22 points, going 10 for 14 from the floor and 2 for 2 from the free throw line.  Norton is the middle child of legendary NFL Linebacker, Ken Norton Jr. and the granddaughter of former heavyweight boxing champion, Ken Norton.  Shaela Flynn and Sashanique Youngblood each contributed scoring in the double digits (11,10), while Lashanique Youngblood lead the team in rebounds with 8 and Tahniya Sweatt leading the team in assists with 7.

Tickets are available for purchase at the door and are $10 for Adults and $7 for students (w/ID), faculty/staff (w/ID), seniors (60 years of age or better) and children (6-12 years of age).
