Mt. SAC Football downs Palomar in NCC contest, faces Cerritos next in regular-season finale

(Walnut, CA) In its final regular-season home game of the season, Mt. San Antonio College (8-1, 3-1) chalked up a 31-10 National Central Conference win over Palomar College (5-4, 1-3) on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The Mounties took a narrow 10-7 lead into halftime, but then outscored the Comets 21-3 in the second half to seal the win.

Ike Udengwu III threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns on 25-of-35 passing for Mt. SAC. His top targets were Jaden N. Allen (five catches, 99 yards, TD), Shemar Savage (two catches, 76 yards, 2 TDs), and Lucas Moore (five catches, 46 yards).

Reaven Tribune led the Mounties in rushing, tallying 106 yards on 11 carries, which included a 68-yard run in the third to set up his own three-yard touchdown reception from Udengwu two plays later to put the hosts up, 24-7.

Daniel Tupuola (four solo) led the Mt. SAC defense with six tackles, while teammates Anthony Hebert (four solo) and Lantz Russell (three solo) added four each.

The victory keeps the Mounties tied for second with Cerritos College (7-2, 3-1) in the NCC standings, setting up a showdown in Norwalk on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. The Falcons are coming off a 52-45 NCC loss to conference-leading Riverside City College (9-0, 4-0), the top-ranked team in the state.
