(Fullerton, CA) In the Fullerton College Tri on Friday, Mt. SAC (4-2) earned a pair of wins, the first a 3-0 (25-23, 25-9, 25-23) victory over Riverside (0-3), and the second a 3-1 (26-24, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18) win against host Fullerton (6-2).

Mt. SAC 3 Riverside 0 (25-23, 25-9, 25-23)

After a hotly contested first set, the Mounties took the second set in resounding fashion en route to a 3-0 victory over the Tigers.

Allison Whiteman performed well for Mt. SAC, tallying 11 kills, five digs, and three service aces. Teammates Ally Euston led all players with 17 assists, while Bristol Christelman had a team-high 11 digs. JJ Quarrels led the Mounties with four service aces.

Mt. SAC 3 Fullerton 1 (26-24, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18)

Behind the solid play of Riley DeGroot (19 kills, seven digs), Whiteman (10 kills, seven digs, four service aces), Euston (43 assists), Quarrel (10 digs), and Riannel Arevalo (23 digs), Mt. SAC handed the host Hornets a 3-1 setback.

The Mounties will host College of the Desert (1-0) in a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. before starting South Coast Conference play against El Camino on Friday, Sept. 10.
