Late Equalizer Secures Tie for Mt. SAC Women’s Soccer Against Cypress

The Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team competed against Cypress College on Wednesday, September 25, resulting in a 1-1 tie.

Both teams demonstrated strong defensive skills, with Cypress not scoring the first goal until the 73rd minute. However, the Mounties responded with determination. In the 85th minute, Noely Rodriguez scored with an assist from Brianna Bernal, leveling the game at 1-1. Anai Olmedo delivered an impressive performance in goal, recording four saves over 90 minutes.

With this tie, Mt. SAC now holds a record of 3-4-3 and is ranked No. 10 in the latest CCCSIA Women's Soccer Poll. Cypress maintains a 6-0-1 record and is ranked No. 1.

The Mounties will continue their challenging schedule, competing against No. 3 ranked Chaffey College on Friday, September 27, and No. 2 ranked Pasadena City College on Tuesday, October 8. This performance set a positive tone as Mt. SAC prepares for these upcoming matches.
