(Torrance, CA) After a great non-conference regular season in which the Mounties won 19 games against only one loss, the team will now enter South Coast Conference North Division Play and will open against top-ranked East Los Angeles College.
The Huskies (17-1), who have been ranked just above Mt. SAC most of the season, will host the Mounties on Wednesday at 7:00 pm to open conference play. In the final non-conference regular season contest, the Mounties easily defeated Cerritos College, 88-45, in a game at El Camino College on Friday.
Leading the way for the Mounties was sophomore guard Maddeline Dopplick (6-12 FG, 3-6 3 pointers, 3-4 FT) with 18 points, while sophomore forward Kali Jones (8-10 FG) added 17 points and had a game-high 10 rebounds.
In addition, all 12 Mounties that played in the game scored, including 11 by sophomore Aliyah Dickson (4-5 FG, 3-4 FT, 5 RB, 3 steals).
The Mounties outrebounded the Falcons, 49-34, and the bench contributed 36 points.
The Mounties built up a 43-18 halftime lead and continued the onslaught in the third quarter with a 23-9 advantage.
Finishing out the week the Mounties will host Pasadena City College on Friday.
