Walnut, CA - The #2 Seed & #2 State Ranked Women's Basketball Team used strong team play both offensively and defensively to defeat visiting #3 Seed LA Valley by a score of 59-42 in the CCCAA Southern California Regional Final. The Mounties held the Monarchs to 28% shooting (7-25) in the first half to take an 11 point lead into halftime. 

The team then continued their stifling defense into the second half along with potent offensive play. Mt. SAC had 9 players score, led by Tahniya Sweatt with 14 pts, 5 Asst and 4 Rebs. Mounties also had solid play from point guard, Shaela Flynn with 10 pts and Sashanique Youngblood, who scored 9 pts. Cheyanne Wayne-King, 4 points and 5 blocks, Lashanique Youngblood, 6 rebounds, Sabrina Norton, 6 pts and 2 rebounds and Johnea Thompson all played great in the paint for the Mounties.

The Mounties, back to back defending state champions, will face San Joaquin Delta (N #1 Seed) on Friday, March 14th, 5:30 pm at Cerritos College.
