(Pasadena) The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team went into Friday nights game with a chance to clinch another conference title. In order to do it they had to go through a familiar foe in Pasadena City College, and had to do in a hostile environment away from home court.

The Mounties (23-4 overall) are undefeated in conference at 11-0 and are currently ranked #2 in the state. They used their deep bench, 45 points in the game, and a strong second half shooting percentage, 61% on 16-26 shooting from the floor, to separate themselves from the home Lancers.

Mt. SAC was led by Tahniya Sweatt with 19 points. Johnea Thompson ended with 12 points and Sabrina Norton had 10.

"It was a big win." said Coach Crichlow. "It's never easy winning in Pasadena. So this win was a great confidence booster going into the home stretch of conference and heading into playoffs."

The Mounties are fighting for a #1 seed in the playoffs and will face Compton Center at home on Wednesday, February 19 at 5 pm.

"Sealing the deal on another conference championship was not bad either" added Crichlow.
