(Walnut, CA)  The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team easily defeated visiting cross town rival, Long Beach City College, 74-59, to move on to fourth round playoff action.  The number one ranked and undefeated Mounties (31-0) will now host number five ranked San Bernardino Valley College (26-5) on Saturday, March 9th at 7:30 pm.  The Wolverines upset #4 ranked L.A. Valley College, 61-55 in the third round.  The winner of this contest will advance to the 4 team (2 North, 2 South) State Championships to be held at Consumnes River College (Sacramento, CA) on March 16th and 17th, 2013. 

Last night, Mt. SAC jumped to the lead early, taking a dominant 39-15 lead at the half, before defeating the Vikings for the third time this season.  It was a total team effort for the Mounties with 5 members of the team scoring in the double digits.  Leticia Galarza led the team with 16 points going 6 for 9 from the field, including going 2 for 2 from the 3 point line. 

Tickets for this Saturday's playoff game can be purchased at the door and are $8 for adults and $5 for Students (with ID), Children (5-12), Seniors (55 and better) and Staff (with ID).
