Mountie Men's Track and Field gets handful of top-10 finishes at Mt. SAC Relays

(Walnut, CA) More than 80 teams competed in the 63rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on Wednesday, April 12 through Saturday, April 15, the majority of which were from four-year colleges and universities. In such a thick field of high-quality competitors, the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Track and Field team turned in five top-10 performances.

Kerry Smith took seventh in the 400 meter, while teammate Jesus Alvarado finished 10th in the 5000 meter. The 4x100 relay squad of Namir Hemphil, Smith, Jake Jensen, and Jacob Williams came in sixth. Marcus Monroe took fourth in the high jump and Hemphil finished sixth in the triple jump.

The Mounties will next compete in the South Coast Conference Prelims at Cerritos College on Tuesday, April 25, then the SCC Finals, also at Cerritos College, on Saturday. April 29.
