Mountie Men's Track and Field represents well at Mt. SAC Relays

(Walnut, CA) In 19 events at the 63rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays (Community Colleges) on Saturday, April 8, Mt. San Antonio College Men's Track and Field competitors turned in 19 top-three performances, that included six first place, seven-second place, and six third-place finishes.

First-place finishes came from Jacob Williams (100 meters), Kerry Smith (200 meters, 400 meters), Ethan Amata (pole vault), Terrence Sweetman (triple jump), and Matthew Mannino (javelin).

Michael Stine III (javelin), Tylor Connelly (hammer), Collin Orlando (pole vault), the 4x400 relay A squad (Nick Felix, Nicholas Vargas, Thomas Scofano, Kerry Smith), Jesus Alvarado (1500 meters), Scofano (400 meters), and Jake Jensen (100 meters) turned in second-place finishes.

Third-place results included Namir Hemphil (100 meters, 200 meters), Andres Chavez (1500 meters), Austin Ledgerwood (5000 meters), Christian Baker (110 hurdles), and James Phommachanh (3000 steeplechase).

The Mt. SAC Relays continue on Thursday, April 12, and run through Saturday, April 15. The Mounties will then compete in the South Coast Conference Prelims at Cerritos College on Tuesday, April 25, and the SCC Conference Finals, also at Cerritos College, on Saturday, April 29.
