Mountie Men's Track and Field dominates Ron Kamaka Invitational

(Walnut, CA) Members of the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Track and Field team turned in 29 top-three performances amongst 18 events at the 2023 Ron Kamaka Open at Mt. SAC on Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 23-25. Mountie athletes accounted for 10 first-place, 11 second-place, and eight third-place finishes.

First-place finishes included Jake Jensen (100 meters), Johnathan Zavala (3000 meters), Christian Baker (110-meter hurdles), Brad Riehl (400-meter hurdles), Team A 4x400 meter relay (Nick Felix, Nicholas Vargas, Namir Hemphil, Kerry Smith), Marcus Monroe (high jump), Jered Beasley (pole vault), Tylor Connelly (shot put), Cory Gamero (discus), and Tristen Webb (hammer).

Michael Stine III (javelin, discus), Abdelrahman Bounougha (hammer), Noah Johnson (shot put), Garren Haynes (triple jump), Hemphil (long jump), Team B 4x400 relay (Joshua Morinaga, Luke Temmink, Terrell Mansano, Thomas Scofano), Adam Chavez (110-meter hurdles), Jalen Griego (3000 meters), John Martinez-Vasquez (1500 meters), and Ryan Henderson (800 meters) placed second in their events.

Third-place performances came from Felix (400 meters), Andres Chavez (1500 meters), Austin Ledgerwood (3000 meters), Adam Chavez (400-meter hurdles), Justin Beltran (pole vault), Haynes (long jump), Terrence Sweetman (triple jump), and Webb (shot put).
