(Long Beach, CA) Several athletes represented the Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field Team well at the Beach Opener meet at Cal State Long Beach on Saturday, March 7.

Ilias Garcia took first in the 100-meter run with a time of 10.24 seconds and second in the 200-meter run at 21.18.

Shallamar Poole placed second in the high jump with a leap of 2.06 meters, while the 4x100 relay team of Garcia, Joey Fox, Robert Thompson, and Grant Gaskins turned in a time of 40.54 seconds, good enough for third place.

Thompson's time of 21.42 earned him a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter run.

In the 3,000-meter run, Daniel Abdala took fourth with a time of 8:32.60.

Next up for the Mounties is the Ben Brown Invitational at Cal State Fullerton on Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14. The distance runners will participate in the Occidental Distance Carnival at Occidental College on Saturday.
