Walnut, Calif. – In a tense 1-0 victory over San Bernardino Valley College in the second round of the 3C2A SoCal Regionals, Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Head Coach Juan Sanchez reached an extraordinary career milestone—his 400th win at the helm of the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Program. With this achievement, Sanchez's career record now stands at an impressive 400–55–74.

Now in his 23rd season, Sanchez has built one of the most decorated programs in the state. His résumé includes two United Soccer Coaches National Championships (2009, 2011), six 3C2A State Championships (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2021), and an astounding 20 South Coast Conference titles.

Over the years, his program has also produced numerous South Coast Conference award winners, including SCC Offensive Players of the Year, Defensive Players of the Year and Goalkeepers of the Year. His commitment to player development extends far beyond the season: hundreds of student-athletes have continued their playing careers at four-year universities, a direct testament to his training, mentorship, and the championship culture he has created.

Sanchez is not only the winningest coach in Mt. SAC Men's Soccer history, but he also sits in a three-way tie for fourth place for the most state championships across all sports in Mt. SAC's storied athletic history.

His leadership and sustained excellence have earned him a record five SCC All-Sports Coach of the Year awards (2003, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2021) and an incredible 13 South Coast Conference Men's Soccer Coach of the Year (North Division) honors.

Athletic Director Joe Jennum praised Sanchez's far-reaching impact:

He runs a disciplined, high-standard program, and he demands excellence from his student-athletes in every aspect of their lives. Juan takes young players and helps shape them into accountable and mature young men.

Reaching 400 wins is a remarkable milestone that speaks to his passion and commitment to developing champions. It's no surprise that student-athletes choose Mt. SAC because they specifically want to learn from him. For the past six years, he has also taken on the leadership of our women's program, where he continues to mirror that same success. Congratulations, Coach Juan!"
