Walnut, Calif. – In a tightly contested playoff battle, the No. 7-seeded Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team edged No. 10-seeded San Bernardino Valley, 1–0, in the second round of the 3C2A SoCal Regional on Saturday, November 22. The victory lifts the Mounties to 12-3-5, while the Wolverines end their season at 14-7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

From the opening whistle, the match was a chess match of possession, pressure, and patience. Both sides created chances, but neither could break through—until the 79th minute, when Joseph Prado threaded a perfect ball to Julian Vazquez, who slotted home the lone goal of the match to snap the deadlock.

In goal, Cody Lindeman came up big with three crucial saves, helping secure the Mounties' clean sheet and keep their postseason run alive.

The win also marked a major milestone: Head Coach Juan Sanchez earned his 400th career victory at the helm of the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Program—a remarkable achievement across 23 years of dedication and success.

The Mounties now head on the road for the next round of the 3C2A SoCal Regionals, where they'll take on the No. 2-seeded Oxnard Condors on Tuesday, November 25. Mt. SAC defeated Oxnard 4–2 earlier this season—but with playoff stakes higher than ever, the rematch looks to be an exciting game. Good luck, Mounties!
