(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) In a National Central Conference game, Mt. San Antonio College (7-1, 2-1) got back on the winning track with a 38-6 victory over host Chaffey College (2-6, 0-3) on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The Mounties posted 14 points in the first and second quarters to take a commanding 28-0 lead into halftime. The Panthers scored first in the third, but it proved not to be enough as Mt. SAC scored 10 more after that to seal the victory.
Starter Ike Udengwu III threw for 204 yards on 15-of-26 passing with one touchdown and one interception for the Mounties. Jaden N. Allen led Mt. SAC in receiving, compiling 80 yards on five receptions. Xavier Rawls caught three passes for 50 yards in the winning effort.
On 16 carries, Isaiah Dickerson ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns for the Mounties, while teammate Adrion Boyd tallied 81 yards on eight rushes with one touchdown.
Defensively, linebacker Toalei Lefau led Mt. SAC with eight tackles, four of which were solo efforts. Defensive back Anthony Hebert had seven tackles, five of them solo.
As a team, the Mounties nearly doubled Chaffey in total offensive yards, 450-228.
Mt. SAC returns home to host Palomar College (5-3, 1-2) in an NCC game on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. The Comets are coming off a 35-20 loss to Cerritos College (7-1, 3-0) which is tied for first in the NCC with Riverside City College (8-0, 3-0).
