Mt. SAC Football dominates San Bernardino Valley to remain unbeaten

(San Bernardino, CA) Mt. San Antonio College ran its record to 3-0 on the season with a resounding 63-18 non-conference road win over San Bernardino Valley College (0-3) on Saturday, Sept. 17.

With a 14-0 lead after the first quarter, the Mounties exploded for 35 points in the second to take a 49-0 lead into halftime. The Wolverines tightened the gap a little in the second half, but not nearly enough to keep Mt. SAC from winning.

Ike Udengwu III led the Mountie offense, throwing for 186 yards on 9-of-16 passing with three touchdowns. He also gained 27 yards on the ground in two carries. Sean Jastrab also contributed to the Mt. SAC offense, throwing for 156 yards on 8-of-12 passing with one touchdown and one interception.

Reaven Tribune (two receptions, 86 yards, TD), Kanyon St. Julien (three receptions, 81 yards, 2 TDs), and Cade Cadam (three receptions, 66 yards) were the top Mountie receivers on the night.

Adrion Boyd led the Mt. SAC ground attack with 44 yards on seven carries, while teammate Mohamed Nyangamukenga added 39 yards on five carries with two touchdowns.

Top Mountie defensive performances included Raynard Bass (six solo tackles), Elijah Schirmer (five tackles, two solo), Lantz Russell (four tackles, two solo), and Darius Eaves (four tackles, two solo, one sack). Anthony Hebert scored on an interception return of 49 yards in the second quarter.

Mt. SAC nearly doubled San Bernardino's total offense yardage, 495 to 252.

Next up for the Mounties is a non-conference matchup at Bakersfield College (1-2) on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. Mt. SAC defeated the Renegades, 45-21, last season.
