Former Mountie Delanie Walker To Play In Superbowl XLVII

(Walnut, CA) Former Mountie, Delanie Walker, will add his name to a distinguished list of Mt. SAC Football Alumni who have had the great fortune to play in professional football's ultimate game, the Super Bowl.  Walker a tight end for the San Francisco 49'ers has amassed 124 receptions for 1,465 yards and 8 touchdowns during his 7 year NFL career with the 49'ers.  This season he has 21 receptions for 344 yards (16.4 yards per reception average) and 3 touchdowns.

Walker will join a distinguished list of former Mounties who have played in the Super Bowl that includes Alfonso Boone (Chicago Bears), Chris McAlister (Baltimore Ravens), Claudie Minor (Denver Broncos), Max Montoya (Cincinnati Bengals), Antonio Pierce (New York Giants), Clinton Sampson (Denver Broncos) and Donald Warren (Washington Redskins).

Walker was an outstanding All-Conference Wide Receiver for the Mounties during the 2002 and 2003 seasons.  During his sophomore season, he received All-American First Team Status, before transferring to Central Missouri State and then being drafted in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. 

Super Bowl XLVII (47) will be held at the Mercedes Benz Superdome (New Orleans, LA) on Sunday, February 3, 2013.  Game time is 6:30 pm Eastern Standard Time and will be broadcast live on CBS (Channel 2 in Los Angeles).
