Edmund Pula enters his second season as the Mt. SAC Throws Coach.  In his first season he quickly resurrected the throwing program and guided Melanie Samvilian to a South Coast Conference Championship, So Cal Championship and a CCCAA State Championship Runner-Up Finish. 

Prior to his arrival to Mt. SAC, Pula guided the throws program at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) from 2004-2012. While at CSUF, he helped to reset Fullerton’s record books in 9 of the 12 throwing events. His throwers accomplished many firsts for the Titans including; All-Big West Conference Honors, All-NCAA West Regional Honors and the first female thrower to qualify for the NCAA National Championships and attain the NCAA 2nd Team All-American Standard.

Pula’s throwers have also enjoyed victories the prestigious Florida Relays, Mt. SAC Relays and Cal/Nevada State Championships.  He has also worked with a number of youth and junior athletes for Victory Athletics, helping them qualify for the USATF Junior Nationals and Junior Olympics. 

Pula currently directs the Mt. SAC Relays/LA84 Foundation Youth Days Clinic Program.  He is also a speaker/clinician at the prestigious LA84 Foundation Track and Field Coaching Clinics, as well as the World Record Camps alongside track and field legends Willie Banks, Mike Powell and Dick Fosbury.

Pula earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton and his Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University.
