(Walnut, CA)  After nearly a year away from campus, Mt. SAC Spring Sports Programs have returned back to campus (week of February 22nd).  The Spring sports of Baseball, Beach Volleyball (W), Golf (M), Softball, Swimming/Diving, Tennis and Track & Field have begun training in hopes of competing this season.  A decision on whether the 2021 Spring Sports Season will move forward will be made shortly by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).

“We are extremely excited to have our athletic programs return back to campus,” replied Mt. SAC Director of Athletics and Dean Joe Jennum.  “The safety of our student-athletes is our top priority and we are strictly following the CoVID-19 safety guidelines set forth by campus, local, state and national health authorities in order to return.  I would like to thank our staff, coaches, team physicians, Student Health Center and administration for their tireless work in making this possible.”

All Mt. SAC Student-Athletes and staff, in order to return back to campus for the Spring Semester, were tested on campus for CoVID-19 (baseline PCR Test) and will follow additional safety precautions including:

  • Daily temperature screening prior to activity
  • Daily Co-VID 19 screening questionnaire
  • Social distancing
  • Masks
  • Hand sanitizing stations
