Costa Mesa, Calif. – One year after capturing their first-ever 3C2A State Championship title, the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Swim and Dive Team proved they belong among the state's elite, finishing third overall at the 2026 state meet.

Heading into the season, head coach Chris Jackson made it clear his goal was simple: stay among the top three teams in California and bring home hardware. The Mounties delivered on both fronts.

Mt. SAC totaled 304 points across the three-day championship, finishing just behind Santa Barbara City College (310) while South Coast Conference rival Long Beach City College claimed the team title with 500.5 points.

The Mounties turned in a strong overall performance, earning five medals — two gold, two silver and one bronze — across a highly competitive field of 40 teams and 21 events.

Leading the way once again was Spencer Damaske, who continued her dominant run in the individual medley events. Damaske captured gold in both the 200 IM and 400 IM, breaking her own school record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:30.02. She also added a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke, touching in at 2:06.06.

Autumn Moya delivered one of the team's top distance performances, finishing second in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:49.57.

In relay action, Damaske, Moya, Megan Venegas and Jessica Luna teamed up for a standout performance in the 800 freestyle relay, placing second in 7:54.62 and breaking a school record that had stood since 2014.

Additional highlights included Venegas placing seventh in the 1650 freestyle (18:36.29), while Moya added a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:57.11) and a sixth-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:13.58).

The season end also marks an exciting next step for two standout Mounties. Spencer Damaske has committed to Saint Mary's College of California to continue her academic and athletic career, while Megan Venegas will take her talents to University of California, Los Angeles – both competing at the Division I level.

NEXT UP:

With a third-place state finish and another season of record-breaking performances, Mt. SAC closes out 2026 firmly established as one of the premier programs in the state. The Mounties will return to the pool next year at the Mt. SAC Aquatics Center, ready to build on their success and chase more records. Thank you for your support this season!
