Nine Gold Finishes Fuel Mounties’ Dual Meet Win Over Sierra

Walnut, Calif. – The reigning state champion Mt. SAC Women's Swim and Dive Team continues to prove why they sits among the state's elite, earning a 131-75 dual meet victory over Sierra College on Thursday, February 26. Facing one of the top programs in California, the Mounties delivered a well-rounded performance from start to finish.

Mt. SAC recorded 12 personal bests and 14 season-best performances on the day, finishing with nine gold medals, five silver medals, and five bronze medals overall.

Spencer Damaske led the charge with four first-place finishes. She captured the 100 IM in a season-best 1:02.23, won the 100 Breast with a personal-best 1:08.91, and added a victory in the 200 IM with a season-best 2:14.11. Damaske also contributed to Mt. SAC's relay success, helping power the Mounties throughout the afternoon.

Autumn Moya delivered a standout performance with two individual victories and a silver finish. She won the 500 Free in a season-best 5:19.69 and claimed first in the 200 Free with a personal-best 2:01.02.

In the 500 Free, Megan Venegas placed second with a personal-best 5:43.36, and Hermoine Feliz finished third in 6:30.92, also a personal best.

Eden Buell also posted two gold medal finishes and a silver. She won the 100 Free in 57.85 and later placed second in the 100 Back in 1:06.53. In the 100 Free, Jessica Luna secured second with a season-best 59.22, and Emily Robertson placed third in a season-best 59.57.

Robertson added two victories of her own, including a first-place finish in the 100 Fly with a season-best 1:03.54. Megan Medina placed second in the event (1:05.84), while Venegas earned bronze with a personal-best 1:08.30. Medina also added a third-place finish in the 200 IM (2:33.78).

The Mounties opened the meet with a victory in the 200 Medley Relay, as the Mt. SAC A team touched first in 1:57.38. In the 200 Free Relay, the Mt. SAC A squad of Spencer Damaske, Autumn Moya, Eden Buell, Emily Robertson, and Isabella Le finished second in 1:46.77.

On the boards, Isabella Le contributed with a strong diving performance, scoring 148.05 points.

The Mounties are off to a strong start this season as they aim to defend their state championship title.
