Livermore, Calif. – The defending state champion Mt. SAC Women's Swim and Dive Team picked up right where they left off, opening the 2026 season with a pair of victories on Friday, January 30. The Mounties earned wins over Las Positas College (137–82) and American River College (137–81), showcasing the strength of the women's program and setting the stage for another exciting season.
Mt. SAC made an immediate impact in the relays, capturing first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:28.84 behind strong performances from Jessica Luna, Autumn Moya, Spencer Damaske, Emily Robertson, and Megan Venegas. They later closed the meet in similar fashion, finishing first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:55.35.
Individually, the Mounties delivered standout performances across the lineup. Spencer Damaske led the way with first-place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.76), 100-yard backstroke (1:05.67), and 100-yard individual medley (1:03.88). Emily Robertson claimed first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.77, while Autumn Moya added a victory in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall first in 58.65.
Mt. SAC's depth was especially evident in the 100-yard freestyle, where the Mounties swept the top three positions, with Moya finishing first, followed closely by Jessica Luna in second and Robertson in third. Moya also earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle, while Megan Venegas contributed multiple podium finishes, including third place in both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. Additional strong efforts came from Megan Medina, who placed second in the 100-yard butterfly, and the Mounties' 200-yard medley relay squad, which captured first place in 2:00.81.

With a dominant season-opening performance in the books, the Mounties will now shift their focus to South Coast Conference competition. Mt. SAC is set to compete at the SCC Pentathlon next week, where the defending champions will look to continue building momentum early in the 2026 campaign.
