
Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Women's Swim and Dive Team wrapped up an action-packed weekend with an impressive second-place finish at the 39th Annual Mt. SAC Invitational, held February 28 – March 1 at the Mt. SAC Aquatics Center. Competing against 22 colleges, the Mounties earned a total score of 765.5, finishing behind Santa Barbara City College (891.5) and ahead of third-place Sierra College (564.5).
The team delivered a standout performance, collecting seven first-place finishes, 12 second-place finishes, and two third-place finishes.
Carolyn Kao played an important role in the team's success, contributing a score of 81 with second-place finishes in the 100 Free and 100 Fly, along with a third-place finish in the 100 IM. Elleanna Ramos followed closely with a score of 79, securing first place in the 50 Fly, 100 Fly, and 200 Fly. Paige Fast was another key performer, earning a score of 75 with a first-place finish in the 50 Back and second-place finishes in both the 100 Back and 200 Back.
The Mounties' relay team showcased their strength and talent, with Kao, Ramos, Fast, Spencer Damaske, and Genevieve Niko dominating the podium. The group claimed first place in the 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, and 800 Free Relay, while finishing second in the 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay—both behind Santa Barbara City College.
With a strong start to the season, the Mounties are proving to be a top contender for a spot among the state's best.

Mt. SAC will travel to Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo for the Cuesta Swimming and Diving Invitational, March 6-7.
