Mounties Place 6th in 3C2A State Championships; Best Finish in Years by the Mt. SAC Women’s Swim Team

(Costa Mesa, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Swim team concluded the 2024 season with its best finish in over 10 years, securing sixth place in the 3C2A State Championships held from Thursday to Saturday (May 2nd to 4th) at Orange Coast College.

The highlight of the championships for the Mounties was freshman Elleanna Ramos, who clinched second-place finishes in the 100 (57.24) and 200 (2:08.16) Butterfly events.

Freshman Paige Fast medaled in all three of her events (200 Free, 8th; 500 Free, 5th; and 200 Backstroke, 5th) and also set school records.

Madison Dorsey, the only sophomore, medaled in the 400 Individual Medley, finishing eighth.

"We had some great swims on the women's side, with Ramos and Fast setting records and freshmen Eden Kennedy and Genevieve Niko earning big points for the women," Mt. SAC Women's Coach Chris Jackson said.

The Mounties finished fourth in the 400 Medley Relay, fifth in the 400 Free Relay, and seventh in the 800 Free Relay.
