(Walnut, CA) Mountie swimmer Valerie Chen placed second in two events and as a team the Mounties placed fourth in the 35th Annual Mt. SAC Swimming & Diving Invitational at the Marie T. Mills Aquatics Complex Thursday through Saturday (Feb. 20-22).

Mt. SAC (293 Pts.) finished behind first-place winner Sierra College (1281), Orange Coast College (346.5) and San Diego Mesa (324).

Chen finished second in the 50 Butterfly (27.89) and the 100 Breaststroke (2:44.25). She also placed fourth in the 200 Individual Medley (2:23.14), 100 Butterfly (1:02.54) and a fifth in the 400 IM (5:21.87).

As a team, the Mounties finished fourth in the 4x50 Medley Relay (Suchada Tachasooksaree, Lauren Chung, Chen, Mirielle Lira (Relay A) (2:03.10)

Next up is the South Coast Conference dual meet against El Camino and Pasadena City College to be held at Mt. SAC, which will take place Friday (Feb. 28) at 12:30 pm.
