Quesada, Dickinson, 800 Freestyle Relay Named All-American’s in Women’s Swimming

(Walnut, CA) The California Community College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association announced recently that two Mt. SAC women and a relay team have achieved the highest honor of All-American status for this past season.

To achieve the All-American status the athlete must place in the top 16 in the country and an Honorable Mention is in the top 24.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Dickinson, who won the South Coast Conference championship in the 200 Butterfly and broke her own record, achieved All-American status at No. 14 in the nation. She also received an All-American Honorable Mention for the 400 Individual Medley.

In addition, Dickinson was named to the All-State team in all three of her events, 200 Fly, 200 and 400 IM.

Freshman Angelica Quesada was the other Mountie swimmer to be named an All-American in an individual event. Quesada had a time of 5:18.10 to place 16th and earned an All-American ranking.

She also received an All-American Honorable Mention ranking in the 200 Backstroke.

Two other Mountie women, sophomores Hannah Schmidt and Jazzie Hernandez, joined Quesada and Dickinson as members of the 800 Free Relay team that also made All-American status with a No. 14 ranking in the country.
