(Walnut, CA) For the second consecutive year, the Mt. SAC Women's Swimming and Diving team has captured the South Coast Conference dual championship over Long Beach City and East Los Angeles College.

In the process the Mounties have a 22-meet winning streak dating back to the 2015 season.

"We are very proud of the girls and their efforts to this point," Mt. SAC coach Chris Jackson said. "We, of course want to win the conference championship, which is in two weeks (April 20-22 at Mt. SAC). We will taper our workouts in the hopes that we see our fastest times at that meet."

Mt. SAC won the conference championships last year at Cerritos College.

The Mounties finished their undefeated conference season with an 8-0 record with a 193-82 win over the ELAC Huskies and almost an identical score over the Long Beach Vikings, 186-79.

The Mounties amassed nine individual first-place finishes and a win in the 400 Freestyle Relay with the team of Jazzie Hernandez (SO), Nikita Rubio (FR), Angelica Quesada (FR) and Katlyn Dickinson. They also swept the 1 meter diving event, 1-2-3, with freshman Haley Service (127.00) taking first.

Leading the way for the Mounties was Dickinson with three individual first-place finishes.

Dickinson, a sophomore, won the 200 Freestyle (2:04.97), 200 Individual Medley (2:22.32) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:49.29).

Sophomore distance swimmer Hannah Schmidt took the 500 (5:59.55) and 1,000 (12:03.05)  Freestyle individual events, along with freshman Jerica Djapri with two first-place finishes in the 200 Backstroke (2:22.69) and the 100 Butterfly (1:07.29) and a second in the 100 Breaststroke.

Freshman Julia Nicholson also won the 100 Backstroke with a swim of 1:08.68, four seconds ahead of teammate Breana Delgadillo (SO).

The Mounties will prepare for the conference championships, April 20-22 at Mt. SAC, with a swim in the Pasadena City College Invitational this weekend.
