Mounties Extend Winning Streak to Four with Victory Over Cerritos

The Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team continued their strong momentum with a 3-0 triumph over Cerritos College on Tuesday, October 15. This win marks their fourth consecutive victory and improves their overall record to 7-4-3, while they remain unbeaten in conference play at 3-0, leading the South Coast Conference North Division. Notably, six of their seven wins this season have been shutouts, showcasing the team's defensive dominance.

The scoring began in the 19th minute when Brianna Bernal netted the first goal, assisted by Michelle Vazquez. Tiana Egland then contributed her first goal of the season just before halftime, finding the back of the net with an assist from Noely Rodriguez. In the 61st minute, Eden Ramirez sealed the match with a goal, courtesy of a pass from Leilani White.

The Mounties dominated the game with 13 total shots, seven of which were on target, while Cerritos managed only four shots, with just one on target. Mt. SAC goalkeeper Anai Olmedo played a crucial role in the shutout, making one key save.

Looking ahead, the No. 7 ranked Mounties will host Rio Hondo for a South Coast Conference matchup on Friday, October 18, at 7:00 PM. Rio Hondo enters the match with a 3-8-1 overall record and a 1-2 mark in conference play.
