Mounties extend unbeaten streak to nine with SCC win over East L.A.

(Monterey Park, CA) Julia Luceo and Jacquelynn Coronado scored two goals each to lead Mt. SAC (10-2-2, 5-0) to a decisive 6-0 South Coast Conference victory at East Los Angeles (0-10, 0-5) on Tuesday.

Deanna Rojas (Luceo assist) and Karissa Vela (unassisted) accounted for the other Mountie goals. Audrie Mahassel and Alyssa Williams assisted on Luceo's first and second goals, respectively, while Paulina Bugarin and Luceo had assists on Coronado's first and second goals, also respectively.

The Huskies only managed one shot on goal in the game, which goalie Leila Peregrina saved. Mt. SAC's offensive attack included 20 shots on goal, 14 of which East L.A. goalie Michelle Ortiz saved.

Ranked tied for No. 14 in the state with Taft (9-3-0) in the Oct. 18 California Community College Sports Information Association's poll, the Mounties have a nine-game unbeaten streak and are tied with Rio Hondo (11-1, 5-0) in the SCC North standings.

Mt. SAC hits the road to take on Long Beach (7-3-2, 4-1) in an SCC game on Friday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m.
