(Wilmington, CA) A pair of goals by Kayla Allen helped lift Mt. SAC (6-2-2, 1-0-0) to a 3-0 South Coast Conference-opening win over host Los Angeles Harbor College (4-5-2, 0-1-0) on Tuesday.
Allen's goals came on assists from Kaylee Gutierrez in the 24th minute and Jacquelynn Coronado in the 64th minute. The other Mountie score came from Karissa Vela (Angeles Jacobo assist) in the 89th minute of play.
Goalie Leila Peregrina had four saves in 90 minutes for Mt. SAC.
It's worth noting that the Mounties have outscored their opponents this season, 26-8.
Mt. SAC—which has gone unbeaten in its last five games—will continue SCC play at Los Angeles City College (2-6-1, 0-1-0) on Friday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m.
