Pasadena, Calif. – The phenomenon that is the Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team just gets stronger and more impressive by the day, as they collected another blowout 88-32 win over Pasadena City College on Wednesday, January 28. The Mounties improve to 22–1 overall and remain unbeaten in South Coast Conference play at 3–0, while the Lancers drop to 11–11 (0–2).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Taliyah McFerson got the ball rolling with a layup and a free throw followed by a jump shot from Janessa Rodriguez. Pasadena briefly answered with a three-pointer from Celine Bolton-Ford, but that would be one of few bright spots for the Lancers in the opening quarter.

The Mounties quickly took control, dominating the paint as McFerson poured in a whopping 15 points in the first 10 minutes while grabbing four rebounds. Mt. SAC raced out to a 31–8 lead after one quarter.

Makayla Haddock provided an instant spark off the bench in the second quarter, leading the Mounties with six points—including a three-pointer—while also pulling down six rebounds. Bolton-Ford scored five of Pasadena's seven points in the period, but Mt. SAC headed into halftime firmly in control with a 48–15 advantage.

After resting for much of the second quarter, McFerson returned in the third and picked up right where she left off, tallying eight points and five rebounds. Elizabeth Udeze followed closely with six points of her own. Pasadena had its most productive offensive stretch of the night with 12 points—nine coming from Bolton-Ford—but still trailed 68–27 heading into the final frame.

The Mounties closed things out in dominant fashion. Tierra Taylor stepped up in the fourth quarter with eight points and two steals, while Leiayjah Mills and Alexis Brown each grabbed three rebounds to continue controlling the glass. Pasadena managed just five points in the final period, as Mt. SAC cruised to the 88–32 victory.
