San Jacinto, Calif. – Mt. San Jacinto was no match for Mt. San Antonio College as the teams faced off on Saturday, November 23. The Mounties showcased their offensive and defensive skills, cruising to a 72-39 win over the Eagles. With strong performances across the board, including standout contributions from Aanisah Moncrief and Taliyah McFerson, Mt. SAC took control early and never looked back. The Eagles struggled to find their rhythm, while the Mounties capitalized on turnovers and strong rebounding to secure their dominant victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Although the Eagles got on the board first with a layup from Vika Afungia, the Mounties responded with a 3-point jump shot from Destiny King. Elizabeth Udeze made a couple of layups, while Aanisah Moncrief added a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer to bring the score to 19-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Mounties continued to drive it home in the second quarter with strong defense, capitalizing on turnovers and securing key rebounds, while the Eagles struggled to convert on their opportunities. By the end of the half, Mt. SAC held a 32-21 lead.
In the second half, Mt. SAC extended their dominant performance, with notable contributions from Taliyah McFerson, Alana Diaz and Ryann Riddle. Despite efforts from Mt. San Jacinto with a 3-point jump shot from Natalie Derla and some layups by Kohen Marshall and Trinity Skinner, the Mounties maintained the lead finishing with an impressive 33 point lead.

The Mounties will not compete the week of Thanksgiving but will be preparing for the College of the Sequoias Tournament in Visalia from December 5-7.
