(Walnut, CA) South Coast Conference rival and No. 9 seed Long Beach City College (20-9) ended top-seeded Mt. San Antonio College's season and 23-game win streak with a 59-57 victory in the third round of the 3C2A Southern California Regionals on Saturday, March 9.

Trailing 53-49 with 2:26 to play in the fourth, the Mounties (27-3) chipped away at the Vikings' lead and tied the game at 53 on a pair of free throws by Isabella Roderick with 1:50 left on the clock. LBCC pulled away from there, opening up a 59-54 lead that Mt. SAC was unable to overcome.

Carley Bolden led the Mounties with 14 points as teammates Daisia Mitchell and Dailani Richardson added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Mitchell and Aanisah Moncrief also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds each.

Points off turnovers (20-4) and points in the paint (34-20) played key roles in the Vikings' win.

With the victory, LBCC advances to the state tournament. This concludes Mt. SAC's 2023-24 season, which included the SCC North Division title.
