Mt. SAC Women’s Basketball Easily Defeat Long Beach City College, 86-57, in SCC Crossover Game

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team was led by freshman Daisia Mitchell and sophomore Dailani Richardson in an 86-57 rout over visiting Long Beach City College in a South Coast Conference crossover game on Friday, January 19.

The Mounties (17-2), ranked second in the state, won their 13th consecutive game.

Mitchell (10-19 FGM-A, 6-9 FTM-A, 8 RB, 5 A, 5 Stls., 1 Blk) led all scorers with 26 points, while Richardson (8-18 FGM-A, 3-8 3 PM-A, 2-4 FTM-A, 9 RB, 3 A, 2 Stls.) added 21 points.

Freshman Aanisah Moncrief (4-5 FGM-A, 1-2 FTM-A, 3 RB, 3 A, 3 Stls.) and sophomore Carley Bolden (3-7 FGM-A, 1-2 3 PM-A, 3 RB, 4 A, 2 Stls.) scored 9 and 8 points, respectively.

As a team. The Mounties had 12 steals.

"Coming back from last year, it means a lot to be honest," said Richardson, referring to the successful start to the season. "We always push each other and me as a leader, I always try to lead by example on and off the court."

The Mounties took a big first half lead, outscoring the Vikings, 47-28, and kept up the frenetic scoring spree with 39 points to win by 29 points.
