(Visalia, CA) Led by a team-high 22 points by sophomore guard Dailani Richardson, the Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team defeated host Chabot, 72-55, in the Gilcrest Tournament opener game on Thursday, November 30.

With the win, the No. 3 State-ranked Mounties improved to 4-1.

Richardson (9-16 FGM-A, 3-3 FTM-A, 5 RB, 3 Stls., 2 Blks., 1 Asst.) highlighted the second half for the Mounties with 15 points.

Also in double figures for Mt. SAC was sophomore guard Frances Potts (2-7 3PM-A, 6 RB, 2 A, 1 Stl.) and freshman Daisia Mitchell (4-12 FGM-A, 5 RB, 2 Stls., 1 A, 1 Blk.) with 10 points each.

Leading the way on the boards for the Mounties was freshman forward Aanisah Moncrief (3-3 FGM-A, 2-2 FTM-A, 2 A, 1 Stl.) with nine rebounds.

After a 14-14 tie in the opening quarter, the Mounties outscored No. 11 Chabot (6-2), 22-13 in the second quarter for the 36-27 halftime lead.

Chabot opened the third quarter with a 6-0 run to trail the Mounties, 36-33 with 8:14 left.

The Mounties came back with a 15-7 run of their own for the 51-40 lead heading into the final quarter. Richardson led with six points in the run.

The final quarter saw Mt. SAC outscore Chabot, 21-15, for a 17-point victory.
