Mountie Women's Basketball comes from behind to earn SCC North win at East L.A.

(Monterey Park, CA) Down 58-51 through three quarters, Mt. San Antonio College (18-7, 5-0) staged a fourth-quarter rally that gave the Mounties a 74-73 South Coast Conference North Division victory over host East Los Angeles College (6-19, 1-4) on Friday, Feb. 3.

With 1:31 to play, the Huskies held a 71-64 lead only to see Mt. SAC tie the score and take the lead, 72-71, on a pair of free throws by Briana Lizardi (10 points) with 27 seconds on the clock. East L.A. tied the score at 72 with 17 seconds to play, then Kameria Piggee (12 points, eight rebounds) put the visitors up for good on a layup with 0:01 to go.

Kamesha Moore and Jamya Mickens (eight rebounds) led the Mounties with 17 points each as teammate Endigo Parker grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds off the bench.

Winners of six in a row and 12 of the last 13, Mt. SAC will host Pasadena City College (13-12, 2-3) in an SCC North game on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 5 p.m.  The Mounties defeated the Lancers, 55-45, on Jan. 20, and are currently ranked No. 4 in the California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association South Region Poll and tied for No. 10 on the most recent California Community College Sports Information Association State Poll.
