Mt. SAC Women's Basketball gets back on winning track with SCC crossover win at Cerritos

(Norwalk, CA) Host Cerritos College (8-11) outscored Mt. San Antonio College (13-7) in the fourth quarter of a South Coast Conference crossover game on Friday, Jan. 13, but the Mounties dominated the first three periods to coast to a 74-41 win.

Mt. SAC's Jamya Mickens led all players with 20 points and 10 rebounds as teammates Kamesha Moore (15 points), Kameria Piggee (12), and Endigo Parker (10) accounted for the Mounties' double-digit scoring.

As a team, Mt. SAC outperformed the Falcons in rebounding (48-30), points in the paint (52-12), and points off turnovers (34-14).

Ranked No. 3 in the most recent California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association south region poll and No. 12 in the current California Community College Sports Information Association state poll, the Mounties will start SCC North Division play at home against East Los Angeles College (5-15) on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 5 p.m.
