(Visalia, CA) Following an opening-round defeat, Mt. San Antonio College (4-4) bounced back to win two straight to claim the consolation title at the 45th Annual Gilchrist Invitational Tournament hosted by College of the Sequoias on Dec. 1-3.

Mt. SAC 61 L.A. Valley 48

Trailing 26-25 at halftime, the Mounties dominated the second half to earn a 61-48 second-round win over Los Angeles Valley College (2-3) on Friday, Dec. 2.

Mt. SAC's Kamesha Moore tallied a game-high 18 points while also leading all players with 14 rebounds. Dailani Richardson and Briana Lizardi rounded out the Mounties' double-digit scorers with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Mt. SAC 69 Canyons 57

Behind double-digit scoring from four starters, Mt. SAC won the tournament's consolation bracket with a 69-57 victory over College of the Canyons (4-3) on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Lizardi poured in a game-high 16 points for the Mounties, while Moore added 15 and Elle Yick and Richardson contributed 12 each. Lizardi also led the team in rebounds with 13. Moore dished off 10 assists in the game.

Mt. SAC will next compete in the L.A. Valley College Tournament on Dec. 8-10. In the opening round, the Mounties will face Cypress College (6-3) on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m.
