Mountie Women's Basketball comes up short against Palomar

(Walnut, CA) Host Mt. San Antonio College (2-3) came up short, 56-53, in a non-conference game against Palomar College (6-0) on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

The Mounties opened up a seven-point lead through the first quarter only to be outscored 22-8 by the Comets in the second to go into halftime down, 33-26. Mt. SAC battled back in the third to tie the score at 38 heading into the fourth quarter, but Palomar pulled away down the stretch to earn the victory.

Kamesha Moore led the Mounties with 19 points while teammates Kameria Piggee and Dailani Richardson added 12 and 10, respectively. Piggee also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

The Comets' Kayla Williams led all players with 21 points and teammate Dejanae Harvey tallied a game-high 11 rebounds.

Mt. SAC returns to action against San Joaquin Delta College (3-3) on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 3 p.m. in the first round of the College of the Sequoias Tournament in Visalia.
