(Visalia, CA) Ventura College (9-0) handed Mt. SAC (7-3) a 61-56 loss in the championship game of the 43rd Gilchrist Invitational Tournament at College of the Sequoias on Saturday, Dec. 7. This was the second time the teams have met in as many weeks, both times were for a tournament title.

Taylor Shelby led the Mounties with 16 points, while Mychayl Phillips added nine, and teammates Aujane Mayes and Remy Hare scored eight each. Shelby also led the team in rebounds with eight and Hare grabbed seven.

Mt. SAC will host Palomar College (9-1) on Friday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m.
