(Visalia, CA) After nearly a two-week break, the Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team (6-2) returned to action with a 68-42 opening-round win over Reedley College (2-5) in the 43rd annual Gilchrist Invitational at College of the Sequoias on Thursday, Dec. 5.

Remy Hare led all scorers with 14 points off the bench for the Mounties, while teammates Taylor Shelby and Allyah Cartajena pitched in with 10 points each. Mt. SAC's Ashton Hudson was the game's leading rebounder with nine.

As a team, the Mounties scored 37 points off turnovers and outscored the Tigers' bench, 35-17.

Mt. SAC will play in the second round of the tournament on Friday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. against the winner of the Delta-Los Angeles Valley game.
