Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Overcomes 11-Point Deficit To Defeat Pasadena City College, 62-57

(Pasadena, CA) Trailing 54-43 midway through the fourth quarter, the visiting Mounties (20-8, 6-3) closed the game on a 19-3 run, to earn a, 62-57, South Coast Conference North Division win over Pasadena City (17-10, 2-7).

The Mounties trailed for most of the Wednesday night game only to take the lead for good, 55-54, on a free throw by Lauryn Manns with 2:31 left to play. Manns finished with five points and six rebounds.

Kiara Stiger led Mt. SAC with 14 points, while teammates Mya Victor and Aujanae Mayes pitched in with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Victor had five rebounds and two blocked shots off the bench. Mayes and Tiana Douglas grabbed seven boards each for the Mounties.

Pasadena's Cosette Balmy led all scorers with 19 points.

Mt. SAC outrebounded the Lancers, 48-35, and outscored them in the paint, 30-20.

The Mounties will close out their regular season schedule with an SCC North Division matchup at Rio Hondo (16-13, 3-6) on Friday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. Mt. SAC defeated the Roadrunners, 66-57, at home on Feb. 6.
