(Walnut) Two free throws with one second remaining in the game sent the Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team to its 18th win of the season and held on to defeat visiting El Camino College Wednesday night in nonconference action.

With its only lead of the game, El Camino took a 74-73 lead on a layup in the 4th quarter, but sophomore guard Maddeline Dopplick helped the Mounties to their 13th consecutive win as she sank two free throws for the 75-74 victory. Dopplick had a team-high 18 points, four three-pointers and two steals.

Two other Mounties scored in double figures with sophomore Aliyah Dickson (4-7 FG, 7-9 FT, 4 RB, steal) and freshman guard Dominique McLaughlin (2 3-pointers, 6 RB, 4 steals) with 15 points each. Sophomore Allyah George (3-4 FG, 3-4 FT, steal) added nine points.

As a team the Mounties (18-1) sank 17 of 21 free throws (81%), scored 22 points off of 21 El Camino turnovers and received 21 bench points.

Dopplick scored 11 of her 18 points, including three 3-pointers, in the opening quarter to help Mt. SAC to a 27-21 lead.

The Mounties, who remain second in the So Cal polls to East Los Angeles College, held a four-point lead at the half, 41-37, and built it up to seven, 57-50, late in the third.

The Warriors ended the quarter with a 6-0 run to trail by a point, 57-56, heading into the final quarter.

Mt. SAC had a six-point lead three times in the final quarter, but El Camino kept crawling back, but the Mounties held on for the win.
