Torrance, Calif. – After a rough bout, the Mt. SAC Men's Water Polo Team found themselves back in the win column with a 19-9 victory over El Camino on Wednesday October 22. With the win, the Mounties improve to 12-8 overall and 3-1 in SCC competition, while the Warriors fall to 5-12 and 2-2 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The game started off tight with both the Mounties and the Warriors each scoring four goals in the opening frame. Mt. SAC struck first with a goal from Trevor Davis, but El Camino's Robbie Josic quickly answered. The teams traded goals again as Benjamin Trull and Zane Johnson found the back of the net to make it 2-2. The Mounties regained the lead with scores from Andres Equihua Sanchez and Davis, but the Warriors responded with goals from Josic and Alex Bugarin to close out the first quarter tied at 4-4.

Mt. SAC broke the game open in the second quarter, lighting up the scoreboard with six goals to El Camino's one. Diego Solis, Paco Lopez, and Nicolas Flores led the charge—each striking multiple times—while Davis added another to build a 10–5 Mountie lead at the half. Johnson provided the only response for the Warriors.

Mt. SAC continued to control the pace in the third period, adding five more goals from Trull, Davis, and Flores. El Camino managed two in response from Alex Bugarin and Josic, but the Mounties maintained a comfortable advantage.

In the final quarter, Mt. SAC outscored the Warriors once more, with goals from Jacob Carlson, Lopez, Lucas Heath, and Davis, who capped off his game-high seven-goal performance to seal the 19-9 win. Despite late goals from Johnson and Sawyer Ruth, the Warriors couldn't close the gap against Mt. SAC's relentless attack.
