Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Men's Water Polo Team delivered a standout performance at the Mt. SAC Invitational, finishing 3-1 over the weekend to continue their strong start to the season. With the effort, the Mounties improve to 7-3 overall, remain atop the South Coast Conference, and are sure to draw attention in the upcoming CCCWPCA state rankings—especially after beating No. 3-ranked Cuesta during the tournament. Mt. SAC entered the weekend ranked No. 7 and has now firmly established itself as a team to watch.

The Mounties jumped out to a commanding 7-1 lead in the first period and maintained control through all four quarters with strong team play and accurate shooting (.621). GAME 2: Mt. SAC 11 | Cuesta 10 (No. 3)
In a thrilling back-and-forth battle at the Mt. SAC Aquatics Center, the Mounties edged out Cuesta College 11-10 in a hard-fought win. Trevor Davis and Paco Lopez led the charge with four goals apiece, while Jacob Carlson added two and Nazareth Longoria-Morasky chipped in one. After trailing in the first half, Mt. SAC surged ahead in the second, overcoming a strong performance by Cuesta's goalkeeper Ezra Smeltzer (12 saves) to secure the narrow victory and continue their momentum in tournament play.
GAME 3: Mt. SAC 9 | Golden West 14 (No. 1)
Mt. SAC fell 14-9 to Golden West in a tough matchup for their only loss at the weekend tournament. The game was tied 5-5 at halftime after a strong second quarter from the Mounties, highlighted by two goals from Paco Lopez and additional scores from Jacob Carlson and Nazareth Longoria-Morasky. However, a scoreless third quarter proved costly as Golden West pulled away with six unanswered goals. Nicolas Flores and Lopez added goals late in the fourth, but the Mounties couldn't close the gap to go undefeated for the weekend.

The Mounties outscored the Bobcats in every period but the fourth, maintaining control throughout. Michael Hale recorded six saves in goal, helping Mt. SAC cap off the matchup with another confident performance as they continue to build momentum this season.
