Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field Team Finishes Strong with 2nd Place at Riverside City College Open

Riverside, Calif. – With another strong performance, the Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field Team secured second place at the Riverside City College Open on Friday, March 14, with a score of 188.50. North Dakota took the top spot with 215 points, while Riverside finished in third with 166 points. The Mounties showcased their strength across a variety of events, earning top placements and contributing to their overall success.

Among the standout performances, Jordan Berkley led the way in the 800 meters, capturing first place with a time of 1:55.15. Teammate Jude Enriquez finished in second place with a time of 1:55.88. Berkley also placed fourth in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:41.28.

Ruben Delgado had an exceptional day, claiming victory in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.87 seconds and finishing third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.40 seconds. Joshua Cervantes also had a strong showing, taking first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.39 seconds and third in the 110-meter hurdles.

The Mt. SAC 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Mentoa Mckenzie, Kerry Smith Jr., Shane Plourde, and Van Rhodus, finished in second place with a time of 3:17.55.

In the field events, Jonah Wilson soared to first place in the high jump, clearing 6' 1.5", while Michael Lozano placed fourth with a jump of 5' 11.5". In the pole vault, Quintin Dukes earned second place with a height of 14' 5.5", with Nathaniel Zwisler and Austin Pepito claimed third and fourth place at the same height.

The team also impressed in the long jump, with Elijah Schultz-Minton taking first place with a leap of 22' 9.25", while Tyrus Murguia finished fourth with a jump of 21' 3.25". In the triple jump, Brandyn Wetherspoon placed fourth with a jump of 44' 1.5".
