
Fullerton, Calif. – Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field delivered a strong showing at the Ben Brown Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton March 7-8. Competing against top collegiate talent, the Mounties secured multiple top-ten finishes, highlighted by a first-place performance in the pole vault event.
Quintin Dukes emerged victorious in the pole vault, clearing 15' 7" to claim the top spot. His teammates also put on an impressive display, with Nathaniel Zwisler finishing third (15' 1"), Mateo Guerra placing fourth (14' 7.25"), and both Richard Herrera and Austin Pepito tying for fifth place (14' 1.25").
The 4x100 relay team, consisting of Kerry Smith Jr., Mentoa Mckenzie, Van Rhodus, and Andrew Silva, put together an outstanding effort, securing third place with a time of 41.08 seconds.
Noah Gordon had a solid run in the 800m, finishing ninth with a time of 1:55.09. In the 1500m, Jordan Berkley clocked in at 3:58.92 to secure a seventh-place finish.
Joshua Cervantes had a strong showing in both the 110m and 400m hurdles, finishing eighth (15.54) and fifth (55.22), respectively. Teammate Nicholas Nocero was right behind him in both events, taking ninth in the 110m hurdles (15.55) and sixth in the 400m hurdles (55.41). Aidan Villasenor also contributed with a 10th-place finish in the 110m hurdles (15.59).
In the high jump, Evan Johnson cleared 6' 5" to place seventh, while Michael Lozano and Matthew Stauffer followed closely behind at 6' 1.25".
Tyrus Murguia impressed in the long jump, placing sixth with a mark of 22' 6.25", while Elijah Schultz-Minton landed an eighth-place finish in the triple jump (44' 7").
In the javelin, Taiyo Ishiguro secured a runner-up finish with a throw of 185' 11". Josh Mallers placed sixth (146' 3"), and Christopher Jimenez rounded out the top ten at 131' 2".
The Mt. SAC men's team demonstrated their depth and wide-ranging skills, with several athletes making key contributions across various events.
